1 Push-Ins:
The enrichment specialist comes into classrooms by teacher invitation
for a whole class enrichment activity. Examples: Portfolios, Math Problem
Solving, Creative Problem Solving, Improvisation, Learning about Learning.
2 Talent
Groups: Talent groups are composed of students who are referred to
the enrichment specialist based on a demonstrated talent in a particular
area such as math or reading or art. Types of classes that may be offered
in a building based on staff input: Architecture, Art, Drama, Archeology,
Inventions, Junior Great Books, Math Talent Groups, Chemistry, Mock
Trial, Writing, Stock Market.
3 Newsroom:
An environment that facilitates self-directed learning projects for
identified students and teacher-referred students. Examples: Teacher
Train, Renaissance.
4 Cluster-Grouping:
A group of five to six high-ability students grouped together in a
regular classroom.
