State Transitional Bilingual Program (STBP)

This program provides supplemental services to students who have a primary language other than English and have English language skill deficiencies that qualify them for STBP assistance. Competence in English language skills and instructional assistance in content areas. are the major objectives of the program.

- Bilingual Resource Teacher (K-5)

- Home School liaison/case management -services middle school level

TITLE 1 Migrant

This federal program provides supplemental services to Migrant students and their families. Instruction, health, parent involvement and identification and recruitment are the key components of this program.

- Migrant parapro instructional assistance(K-12)

- ESL /SNS class support at the secondary level

- Migrant Resource Teacher (K--12)

- Supplemental instructional materials

- Migrant Home Visitor/Identification and Recruitment/Counseling Services

- Coordination of Migrant Health Screening

- Program coordination

- Parent Involvement/Education

- Parent /Student Intergenerational Literacy Project

- LEAP (learning enrichment and Academic Program) Center s(grades 6-12)

- Summer school programs

- Migrant Student Record Transfer System data compilation and dissemination

- WHS/WSHS PASS and After School Tutorial

POPULATION SERVED: 813 STUDENTS estimated to be eligible

CERTIFICATED PROGRAM STAFF: 12 (2.53 FTE)

EIA/LEP: Early Immigration Act for Limited English Proficient Students

This federally funded program provides supplemental services to student who are recently immigrated to the United States.

- Bilingual teacher/parapro instructional assistance - LEAP Centers, (Middle school and high school Newcomers' Center)

- Staff development

Native American Indian Education, Title IX & JOM (Johnson O'Malley)

These federally funded programs provide supplemental services to eligible Native American Indian students.

- Cultural enrichment activities

- Parent involvement/education activities

- supplemental instructional tutorial assistance and materials

Title 1

Title 1 provides supplemental dollars for schools to develop programs to support student needs. Schools qualify to be Title 1 buildings based on the number of low-income students in their population and allocations made by the Title 1/LAP District Advisory Board.

- Certificated Reading Specialists and parapros in Title 1 buildings providing supplemental instructional assistance in Reading, Language Arts, Math and Communications(K-5). - Supplemental instructional materials

- Staff development (i.e. ELIC, First Steps, Frameworks, Arkansas Model, Observational Survey)

- Reading Recovery Training

- Support of Learning Network Training

- Child/Family Advocacy/Counseling services

- Parent Training and Involvement Program, building and district level

- Title 1 Program development,Implementation, monitoring and evaluation

- Program Assessment, building and district level

- School-wide projects

POPULATION SERVED: 1701 STUDENTS

CERTIFICATED PROGRAM STAFF: 22 (12.4 FTE)

CLASSIFIED PROGRAM STAFF: 12 (25.7 hours daily)


State Learning Assistance Program (LAP)

LAP provides supplemental dollars for schools to develop programs to support student needs. Schools qualify to be LAP buildings based on the number of low-income students in their population and allocations made by the Title 1/LAP District Advisory Board.

- Certificated Reading Specialists and parapros in Title 1 buildings provide supplemental instructional assistance in Reading, Language Arts, Math and Communications(K-5). - Supplemental instructional materials

- Staff development, Reading Recovery Training
