Staff Immunizations

Recently there have been several outbreaks of mumps and other communicable diseases in Washington State. These outbreaks are primarily due to more people traveling within under-immunized countries. Wenatchee School District wants to be proactive and advise our staff of future policy changes regarding staff immunizations in order to be best prepared for such an event in our area.

To best protect our school community, and our ability to work during an outbreak, we are asking staff to follow the same state immunization recommendations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and tetanus as required of the students. Please keep in mind that you are not being told you have to get an immunization, but that you must meet one of the three options provided below.

To summarize, the requirement for this policy is to have each employee meet one of the following as of August 31, 2005:
